Prof. Imrich Chlamtac
EAI, CREATE-NET, University of Trento
Prof. Chlamtac is Full Professor of Telecommunications at the University of Trento. He is also the Founding President of CREATE-NET, an international Research Center founded by the University of Trento and the “Istituto Trentino di Cultura” in 2003, which is at present the top-ranked independent ICT Research Center in Italy (as per Ministry for University and Research 2008-2010 ranking).
Furthermore, Prof. Chlamtac is the original architect and current President of the European Alliance for Innovation initiative, EAI; Prof. Chlamtac pioneered EAI as global initiative for promoting growth of ICT based European economy and digital society.
Before coming to Trento, Prof. Chlamtac served as Associate Provost for Research and Distinguished Chair in Telecommunications at the University of Texas in Dallas, and Professor at Boston University, University of Massachusetts and Technion.
Dr. Tao Zhang
Dr. Tao Zhang, a Distinguished Engineer, joined Cisco in 2012 as the Chief Scientist for Smart Connected Vehicles, and has been spearheading architectures, technologies, and eco-systems for the Internet of Things and Fog Computing.
For over 25 years, Tao has been in various technical and executive positions, directing research and product development in broadband, mobile, and vehicular networks and applications. His leadership and technical work have led to pioneering contributions that advanced the state of the art in fiber optic networks, all-IP cellular networks (3G/4G), mobile ad-hoc networks, and vehicular networks; and have resulted in disruptive technology, standards, and products.
